Child killed, 4 injured in Islamabad swing mishap

A 10-year old child lost his life while four children received injuries when a swing collapsed at Rawal Park, Islamabad. Interior Minister Rehman Malik took notice of the incident and directed the authorities to close all the swings in the park. CDA director and CDA manager parks were apprehended by the police.The incident took place on Friday evening, after a swing collapsed, 10-year old Absar was killed on spot while four other childern were injured. The injured were identified as Amina 8, Ayesha 10 and two brothers Azak and Haris. The injured were transferred to PIMS teaching hospital. According to CDA spokesperson the incident took place due to high wind blowing in the area. The director and manger parks were issued notices and an inquiry has been initiated against them. Rehman Malik also directed for inspection of all the swings in the park. Manager Muhmmad Idrees has been arrested by the police. Police is conducting raids to arrest Haji Arshad.
