A number of follow-up sectoral meetings will be held here during June to carry forward the process of comprehensive Pakistan-US engagement, initiated at the Pakistan-US Strategic Dialogue held in March 2010 in Washington. According to the American Embassy, the full spectrum substantive engagement covers, inter alia, the issues of food and energy, security and social development. The sectoral meetings include defence, science & technology, economy, trade, agriculture, water, energy, law enforcement & counter terrorism, women empowerment, health, education, security, stability and non-proliferation, communication & public diplomacy. American officials relating to these subjects will arrive here in this month to hold talks with their Pakistani counterparts to further promote and strengthen ties in these fields. Pakistan attaches considerable importance to the upcoming meetings which are meant to broaden and deepen the spirit of partnership between Pakistan and the United States.
