Summary One-minute silence was observed at NA for Youhanabad blast, attack termed security lapse by MNAs
ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Members of the National Assembly on Monday termed the church attack in Lahore as the failure of security agencies. The MNAs also observed one-minute silence for the victims of the blast, Dunya News reported.
National Assembly (NA) session was presided over by the Speaker NA Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. MNA also suggested setting up special task forces for security of the minorities. Members also condemned the killing of two common men by the mob. They demanded action against those who damaged public property.
MNA Khalil George demanded the deceased to be called as ‘martyrs’ instead of ‘dead’. Minority representative Dr. Darshan said that damaging public property in protest was unacceptable.
Pakhtunkhawa Milli Awami Party (PK-MAP) leader Mehmood Khan Achakzai said that people will have to be told the truth in order to get rid of terrorism. He said that if the parliament of provincial assemblies did not make the fight against terrorism their top priority, Pakistan will become the new Egypt of Libya. He suggested calling a joint session of the parliament for policy-making about terrorism.
