Summary
The residents of Balochistan, Karachi and other areas are coming back in terms with life as heavy torrential rains dashed in on Karachi and coastal areas of Balochistan after Cyclone Phet hit these areas. At least 250,000 people are believed to be stuck in water in the coastal region of Balochistan. The basic necessities of life are scarce since the land route between Gwadar, Jiwani, Pasni, Pushkan and more than 50 other villages has been cut off, and crops have been destroyed due to dams bursting in the adjoining areas of Gwadar. The price of petrol in Gwadar has risen to Rs 500 per litre. The Pakistan Meteorological Department had directed fishermen to resume their activities from Monday as Cyclone Phet has turned away from Pakistan.
