LAHORE (Dunya News) -- Negotiations between Punjab government and owners of ghee factories regarding the price of ghee and cooking oil went successful as all factories acceded to the government’s price formula of reducing 15 rupees per kilo, Dunya News reported.

Under a meeting presided by Rana Sanaullah at Chief Minister house this Saturday, an extensive debate took place after which both parties came to an agreement.

Previously government of Punjab had ordered a reduction in price of ghee and oil which had not been complied by the factory owners resulting in an apparent shortage in the market.

Speaking to the media, Rana Sanaullah said that a quality check would be imposed to verify the contents of product on sale. He further added that the factories have been given a deadline of 72 hours to make sure they abide by the agreement.

In addition to adjustment in price, Punjab government has also made it mandatory for manufacturers who have agreed to price cut, to print the contents of their product on the packing material.
