LONDON: (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has on Sunday said that the MQM wants equal rights for women in all fields. He said that the MQM stood for equal rights for women and end to all prejudices towards them, Dunya News reported.

In his message on the occasion of Women’s Day, Altaf Hussain said that the women were an integral part of any society and the society would be incomplete without them. MQM chief said that the women in the rural areas of Pakistan were still living a serf’s life.

Condemning the deprecated traditions of Vani and Karo Kari, Altaf Hussain said that the women are treated like slaves in rural areas of Pakistan and are often murdered in the name of honor, Vani or Karokari. He said that the MQM wanted end to the brutality with which the women were treated in Pakistan. He said that his party would continue to struggle for the women.
