Water outflow from the Attabad Lake into the spillway has reached 1640 cusecs. The spillway has further weakened due to increase in the flow of water. Experts have termed the next 24 hours as crucial.The water flowing through Attabad spillway is expected to increase more than 2000 cusecs in next 24 hours. During the last five days the water level rose by five feet while due to fast flowing water passing through the spill way is cut out continues. Experts have revealed that the top layer of the lake composed of dust while the lower layer is composed of tiny stones. The top layer could be wiped in the next 24 hours following which 4000 cusec of water could outflow from the lake.The authorities claim they are ready to confront all challenges. According to authorities, large quantities of food supplies and medicines have been sent to the area. People in the low lying area of Hunza are being provided goods and fuel from helicopters.
