PM recommends awarding Tamgha-e-Shujaat, Sitaara-e-Shujaat to APS martyrs

The objective of the award of medals is to pay tribute to the martyrs of the tragedy of APS Peshawar

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – During the dastardly attack on the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar, a total of 122 students, 2 faculty members and 20 members of administration staff were martyred.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif has decided to award 122 students, 2 teachers with Sitaara-e-Shujaat while 20 members of administration staff will be awarded Tamgha-e-Shujaat respectively. The PM has forwarded a recommendation of the same to the President in this regard.

The objective of the award of medals is to pay tribute to the martyrs of the tragedy of APS Peshawar.

It should be noted here that terrorists launched a brutal attack on APS Peshawar last year on 16 December targeting countless students of the institution.

During the tragedy, 122 students, 2 teachers and 20 members of administration staff lost their lives in what can be termed as a heinous attack.

The incident not only shook the students of the institution and their families but also the rest of the country.

The incident of APS Peshawar is widely regarded as heart rending, tragic and unfortunate by not only Pakistan but by world at large.

The incident united Pakistan against the issue of terrorism and whole country raised its voice over the issue in unison.
