The natural lake formed in wake of a landslide in Attabad is likely to overspill on May 27, experts warned. The lake is 355feet deep, while water is just 4 to 5 feet away from the spillway. Helicopter service to lift affectees to safe places has been suspended owing to inclement weather.The lakes overflow might submerge the low-lying areas including Gilgit and Shahrae Korakuram. Experts said that the area is soil infested and as such soil would accompany the flood which would increase the loss.Thirty relief camps have been established in which some 30, 000 to 40,000 people are given refuge, NDMA authorities said.
