Summary Suspect Obaid-ur-Rehman had confessed to killing 22 people including 8 policemen and 4 doctors.
KARACHI (Web Desk) – Suspected target killed Obaid-ur-Rehman was shot dead when he was trying to escape police custody in Altaf Nagar area of Orangi Town on Friday, Dunya News reported.
The suspect snatched weapon from a policeman and opened fire, injuring a constable, police said.
Police claimed that he was killed in retaliatory fire.
It may be mentioned here that DIG West Tahir Naveed had presented the targeted killer before media on Thursday. The suspect had confessed to killing 22 people including 4 doctors and eight constables.
Police are also conducting raids in different areas to nab accomplices of Ubaid-ur-Rehman.
Karachi, Pakistan`s biggest city and economic heart, has wrestled for several years with a bloody wave of criminal, sectarian and political murders, forcing the authorities to launch a targeted operation across the city to tackle criminal elements.
So far, dozens of suspected criminals have been arrested.
