The Supreme Court summoned interior, foreign and finance secretaries in the missing persons case on Monday.A three-member bench, headed by Justice Javed Iqbal, heard the missing persons case and of those who have been illegally kept abroad. The court expressed displeasure over the interior ministrys report on the issue. Justice Javed observed that the Pakistan embassies abroad are supposed to protect and pursue the cases of those kept abroad and asked about the initiatives taken by the government and foreign ministry for repatriation of such people. The Additional Attorney General told the court that finance is the big hurdle in brining such people back. Upon this, Justice Javed said that secretary finance would be quizzed over the matter. The court also ordered judicial commission to hear MQMs missing persons case.
