Polling for by-elections in National Assemblys constituency NA-178 Muzafargarh 1, and Provincial Assemblys constituencies PP-259 Muzafargarh 9, PP-Vehari 1 and PP-63 Faisalabad would be held on May 15 and election campaigns in regard would be ended by 12 midnight today. Pakistan Peoples Partys candidate Jamshed Dasti and former governor Punjab Ghulam Mustafa Khar besides other candidates are contesting in Muzafargarh. In Muzafargarh, number of voters registered in this constituency is 283, 548. At least 250 polling stations and 529 polling booths have been set up. PPPs Ch. Nazir Jutt, PML-Ns Syed Mehdi Naseem Shah and independent candidate Ch. Nazir Araen are contesting in PP-167 Vehari 1. In this constituency, 363,091 voters are registered. Mian Ajmal Asif of Pakistan Muslim League-N, PPP Provincial President Rana Aftab Ahmed, Mian Abdul Qayum of Labour Qaumi Movement, Chaudhry Amjad Ali Waraich of Pakistan National Muslim League besides independent candidates Usman Masood, Rana Aftab Ahmed, Chaudhry Muhammad Ilyas and Imran are running for PP-63 Faisalabad. Polling will begin at 8am on May 15 and continue till 5pm. Punjab Government has called Rangers to maintain law and order situation.
