Summary
MQM Chief Altaf Hussain said that Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilanis statement regarding revival of Hyderabad's old status was meant to please the feudal lords only; however, he warned that the people would not approve the decision. During a telephonic address to his party members, he said that Pakistan Peoples Party made false claims to have passed the power to grass root level. He maintained that the Sindhi brethren would disapprove the plan and added that the incumbent government should not take their reconciliatory policy as their weakness. Meanwhile, MQM has announced to launch a mass protest on the new plan to revive the old status of Hyderabad, i.e district. MQM member Faisal Sabazwari showed strong resentment over the issue, adding that his party rejected the PMs decision and warned of protest against it at both on public and government level. PPP member Nabeel Gabol called on Prime Minister Gilani that the decision should not be reversed. Sources in the PPP, however, quoted the prime minister as saying that the government would consult its allies before taking any decision on the matter.
