Summary Banned outfits have challenged the sanctity of the state, says Tahir Mashhadi
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Senator Raza Rabbani on Tuesday has said that he has cast vote in favour of Amendments in the Army Act and the Constitution against his will for the sake of protection of the country.
He expressed these views while addressing the members of the Senate in Islamabad.
While expressing embarrassment for having voted in favour of the military courts, he said that he was not in favour of the military courts but there was no other option for him. Reportedly, Rabbani had wet eyes while addressing the members of the Senate. He left the Senate as soon as he ended his speech.
Whereas, Senator Hasil Bizenjo said that there was no other option for them but to vote in favour of the Amendments. He said that they are not quite happy with this decision. Bizenjo said that today’s session was the most important one for Pakistan.
The courts established through the Parliament would be different from the actual military courts that is why they have voted in favour of these courts, said ANP’s Afrasyab Khattak.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Tahir Mashhadi said that the people of the country and the Pakistan Army are looking towards the government for the much needed action against terrorism as banned outfits have challenged the sanctity of the state.
He further urged the elimination of the people who favour terror acts along with those who execute such acts.
Separately, Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah said that they have taken bitter pill of the establishment of military courts for the sake of protection of the country.
