ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The National Assembly on Tuesday has unanimously approved the Amendment in the Army Act 1952 bill for the establishment of the military courts.
The bill would be sent to the Senate for approval.
According to the details, not a single National Assembly member voted against the establishment of the military courts. After the 21st Amendment in the Constitution, Federal Minister for Law Pervez Rashid asked the assembly Speaker for his permission to put forth the bill about Army Act Amendment. The bill was required to have simple majority for its approval.
However, the bill was approved unanimously as not a single member showed reservations over the bill. The National Assembly approved the Army Act Amendment bill 2015.
The members of the assembly congratulated Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif after the approval of the Amendment bill. The National Assembly session would resume on January 7 at 11am.
