Summary The support of democracy and call for a Martial Law are two opposite things, says JUI-F chief

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazlur Rehman on Thursday has said that they are not in favour of the establishment of military courts but due to the situation of the country they agree with the decision.

He expressed these views while talking to the media after addressing the meeting of the ulema.

Rehman said that his party’s constitutional experts raised questions over the establishment of military courts during the all parliamentary parties conference. He said that they could support the decision of the parties in wake of the terrorism acts in the country.

While commenting on one of the approved recommendations, he said that yet against a propaganda is being done against the madarris (religious institutions) in accordance with the international agenda. Rehman also said that they still stand firm on the agreement about affairs regarding syllabus, administrative and revenue of the religious institutions.

While answering a question, he said that the participation of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) in the all parliamentary parties conference is not something to be hyped as all the institutions of country are united against one evil.

Moreover, while commenting on the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain’s statement, JUI-F chief said that the support of democracy and call for a Martial Law are two opposite things.
