RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – As many as 50 terrorists have been killed on Friday in different encounters with the security forces as the Operation Khyber One of the Pakistan Army continues successfully in the Khyber Agency.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), an operation was carried out in the Tangi Sar and Kon Gana of the the Khyber Agency.
The security forces got a tip-off that a group of terrorists is moving towards the Pakistan-Afghanistan border from the Tirah Valley upon which the forces attacked terrorists at Warmagai and Suparkot.
At least 32 terrorists were killed as a result of the pre-emptive strike, according to the ISPR.
However, the militants left the bodies of their accomplices and absconded the scene.
As many as three officials of the security forces have been injured after both the sides exchanged fire resultantly, the soldiers were shifted to a hospital.
The ground troops also carried out an operation against the insurgents in Bara area of the agency that killed at least 18 militants.
Separately, a drone targeted a location of Taliban in the Kot Nazyan area of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border with two missiles which killed as many as five Taliban and left many injured.
According to the ISPR, Kot Nazyan is connected to the Tirah Valley which serves as the entry and exit point for militants, in and out of the country into Afghanistan after their acts of terror.
Moreover, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has left for Khyber Agency to review the situation and progress of the operation Khyber One.
