As many as seven soldiers were martyred and around 16 others injured as militants ambushed an Army convoy in North Waziristan whereas 6 militants have also been killed in South Waziristan on Friday. According to ISPR, an officer, a junior commissioned officer and five security personnel were among the dead in the ambush in Dattakhel. Four military vehicles were also destroyed. A military statement said the convoy was on a routine mission from Miramshah to Dattakhel. Meanwhile, militants killed four men in North Waziristan, after accusing them of spying for the United States. The bodies were found by the roadside in Khadi village, 25 kms east of Miramshah, the main town in the tribal North Waziristan region near the Afghan border. He said two bodies were headless, while the other two were bullet-riddled. Two of the men were Afghans while the others were local tribesmen who had been kidnapped from Miramshah three weeks ago. A local intelligence official said a note found near the bodies said all those spying for the US and Pakistan will meet the same fate.
