ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is ready to exhibit it’s political power at Parade Avenue in Islamabad today (Sunday), Dunya News reported.
PTI is going to stage another protest against the alleged rigging done in 2013 elections and claimed that this public meeting will beat the record of previous rallies.
Passionate participants and party leaders of PTI with signing ‘victory’ symbol have started reaching the venue.
According to the deal with Islamabad administration, PTI will carry out its peaceful public meeting at Parade Avenue whereas the venue has been adorned with party flags, banners and chairs from the Parade Lane to the Jinnah Avenue.
The stage has been made at the venue facing towards the Jinnah Avenue and is surrounded by containers.
The PTI would start its public rally at 12 pm noon whereas it will end before 7pm in the evening.
Federal administration has estimated 60 to 70 thousand crowd that will be allowed to enter from the walk through gates arranged at Margalla Road, PTV Chowk, Express Chowk and Shahrah-e-Dastoor.
The internal security arrangement of the venue is a responsibility of PTI administration, Federation stated.
Moreover, administration has also warned PTI that strict action will be taken in case of violating the agreement.
Earlier, District administration on Saturday imposed ban on pillion riding on November 30, which would be implemented from midnight.
Drone cameras would not be allowed under section 144 and the ban on use of drone cameras would stay for a week.
Police have issued instructions for diplomatic enclave according to which all diplomats and their staff has been advised to refrain from going to the markets and shopping centers.
It has also been recommended to buy necessary good before Sunday.
Talking to media, the Inspector General (IG) Islamabad said that shipping containers have been placed around the rally venue due to security concerns. Intelligence agencies had alerted that an explosive-laden vehicle could enter the venue.
He said four entry points have been established where around 50 walkthrough gates will be installed. PTI has already arranged 25 walkthrough gates.
IG Tahir Aalam also said that entry in rally venue will be allowed after three phases of search.
He said eleven thousand police and FC personnel will be deployed while aerial monitoring will also be carried out on the occasion.
Ch Nisar was given a detailed briefing by the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and high-ranked police officials on his arrival at the red zone.
The Interior Minister said that a vigilant eye would be kept at the extremist elements in the surroundings of the Red Zone.
He further said that strict security arrangements would be done not only for the people of Islamabad but also for the participants of the PTI rally.
The bus-stands in Lahore and Faisalabad on Saturday have been closed down to allegedly stop PTI supporters from participating in the rally tomorrow (Sunday) in Islamabad.
According to details, the Badami Bagh General Bus-Stand near Minar-e-Pakistan has been closed down to “clean” the area.
According to the authorities, the people are having problems travelling due to garbage and poor cleanliness arrangements at the bus-stand.
Similarly, authorities have closed down bus-stands in Faisalabad to allegedly stop people from participating in the PTI rally.
Reportedly, the bust-stand administration were also abstained from booking seats of passengers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
The transporters have also criticised this act along with the people who are facing problems.
