Rulers' faces are tainted with blood of the Model Town martyrs, says PAT chief

LAHORE: (Dunya News, Web Desk) – Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that no Joint Investigation Team (JIT) would be acceptable to PAT unless Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif resigns from his office. “Where does the question of a deal or retribution money arise from when the JIT has been rejected?” questioned PAT chief.

Addressing a press conference in Lahore on Friday via video link, Tahirul Qadri said that making a JIT on Model Town tragedy was a shameful act. He said that the sacrifice of the martyrs will not go wasted. He rejected the JIT made by Punjab government. “If such a JIT had to be formed then why did the government waste five months”, questioned Tahirul Qadri. He said that PAT would never accept a JIT comprising police officers.

“There are cases registered against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and three of their ministers. Who will issue their arrest warrants?”

Tahirul Qadri said that the rulers’ faces are tainted by the blood of the Model Town martyrs.

PAT chief said that he found Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif as a very kind man. “We are proud of such a commander. Those accusing of a deal should be ashamed of themselves”, said Tahirul Qadri.
