PML-N has submitted an amendment for renaming Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Senate today.Senator Abdul Rasheed tabled the bill. Sources said that the PML-N floated the Hazara Pakhtunkhwa as new name of the province. Referring to the ongoing protests on the issue, Nawaz urged CM Hoti not to turn annoyance into clash.He maintained that the renaming issue was complicated and he had intimated the government and else in this regard. He urged the opposing parties not to attach the renaming issue with the 17th amendment. Meanwhile, some 9 people were wounded while over 100 injured in the ongoing violence in Abbotabad.The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain urged the people not to resort to violence and stay calm. PML-N has realized mistake of supporting govt on renaming NWFP: Shujaat Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain said that that PML-N has realized the mistake of supporting the government on renaming NWFP. He added that the NWFP government is killing its own people who are protesting against the issue.Shujaat said that he is not creating any complications on the issue instead he is speaking for the rights of the people. PML-N called upon govt to reconsider decision to rename NWFP: Nisar Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan said politics should be kept aside while renaming the province NWFP and informed that his party has called upon the government to reconsider its decision to rename NWFP as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. Speaking to newsmen in the federal capital, Nisar said that peace could be restored in the Hazara division if a new name is proposed instead of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. He added all political parties should persuade the people of Hazara to maintain calm after todays violent incidents.We can not backtrack on the 18th Amendment as we have already signed the bill, said the Opposition Leader. To a question, he said President Asif Ali Zardari has granted special remission to the prisoners for the benefit of only one person. He added that the Punjab government was not consulted on the issue and the decision would also violate the orders of judiciary.
