Police completes investigation of CSP officer's suicide case
Reports reveal Nabiha committed suicide under extreme mental pressure.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Police has completed the investigation report of trainee Civil Services of Pakistan (CSP) officer Nabiha Chaudhry on Wednesday.
According to the sources, reports revealed that Nabiha committed suicide under extreme mental stress as she has been under pressure for that past few days. The day she comimitted suicide, she had asked for petrol to remove stains from her clothes but instead set herself ablaze.
The report has been compiled after a thoroughly investigating the evidence recovered from the site of incident and recording the statements of relevant persons.
The investigative report has been forwarded to Inspector General (IG) Punjab and the government.
Earlier, body of the trainee CSP officer Nabiha Chaudhry who had apparently committed suicide has been handed over to the relatives after autopsy on Friday whereas the deceased’s death still remains a mystery, Dunya News reported.
Nabiha’s dead body was transferred through a private flight to Karachi where her funeral would take place.
27 year old Nabiha who had come to Lahore for training in Accounts and Audit Department from Karachi allegedly committed suicide burning herself to death on October 15 in the afternoon. Police reached the site of incident and took the body into custody and started to collect evidence.
Her death took a surprising turn when a note was found tucked in her diary that had held a person responsible for her death.
Police sent the samples of the diary to the forensic for verification of the hand writing whereas her call records are also being extracted.
Nabiha’s mother said her daughter bore enmity with no one.
The case had been registered on behalf of her mother under section 302 against unidentified persons whereas the body was sent for autopsy after approval from the family.
In the preliminary postmortem reports the body showed no signs of resistance whereas the cause of death stated is suffocation. Report also states that 90 percent of Nabiha’s body was burned.
Talking to the media, Nabiha’s brother-in-law said Nabiha was an educated girl and a step like suicide is not expected of her.
Also, Nabiha’s family had to go through immense mental torture while struggling to fetch for her dead body. They were firstly brought from Karachi to Lahore at the morgue.
After identifying the body they were taken to the Audit and Accounts Academy where the police made them wait for two hours to have a look at the site of incident.
Nabiha’s mother and sister expressed severe anger on the treatment of police.
They said how can a few hours investigation infer it was a suicide?
Nabiha’s friends say she had strong nerves and cannot commit suicide.
Director General Audit and Accounts Shehzad Raza vowed to conduct an internal inquiry after receiving the preliminary reports from police.
On October 15, a female trainee officer was mysteriously burned to death as result of fire at the Audit and Accounts Hostel in Lahore.
The security guard outside the hostel alerted the rescue and police officials after he saw smoke rising from the room of trainee officer Nabiha Chaudhry who was being trained at the Audit and Accounts Academy Lahore and resided in the hostel situated at Guru Mangat Road Gulberg area.
The police and rescue officials reached the site and tried to open the door but the door was locked from inside. The police then broke the door and upon entering, discovered the scorched dead body.
The police took the dead body into custody and sent it for the autopsy.
Nabiha’s friends said that she would never commit suicide .The police also recovered a bottle of petrol from the room.
According to the preliminary investigation, the police termed the death as suicide.
The commissioner Lahore said that nothing can be ruled out until the final autopsy report arrives.
The initial investigation revealed the Nabiha’s mother was a teacher and her father had been murdered.
