Sindh Assembly Speaker offers to 'mediate' in MQM-PPP dispute

Summary MQM on Sunday evening announced to quit PPP-led Sindh coalition government.

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani on Tuesday offered to mediate as guarantor in dispute between the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dunya News reported.

Talking to media, the Sindh Assembly Speaker stated that both political parties should sit together to clear the misunderstandings.

“I am ready to play role as a mediator,” he added.

Agha Siraj Durrani further said that political parties should work together for improvement of province’s situation.

To a question regarding request for allotment of opposition seats, the speaker stated that he is reviewing the MQM lawmakers  request but they should not sit on opposition benches.

It is pertinent to mention here that Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday evening announced to dissociate itself from the ruling coalition of Sindh province, saying there won t by any compromise when its leader Altaf Hussain is subjected to an  unwarranted  criticism.
