WAZIRABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited Wazirabad on Wednesday and distributed the relief cheques among the affectees. Prime Minister said that the government will not rest until complete rehabilitation of the affectees, Dunya News reported.

According to the details, Prime Minister said that the second installment of the flood relief goods will also be delivered in the month of October.

He said that the formation of a national committee to prevent natural disasters is critical.

Criticizing the opponents, Prime Minister said that “may God guide those who do not want the national development”.

Addressing the ceremony to distribute the relief cheques, Prime Minister said that the flood affectees should not consider themselves alone. He said that the relief efforts are started even before the water recedes despite the fact that the country has limited resources and several problems.

Prime Minister said that the previous governments did not focus on preventing the floods, adding that now is the how time to formulate a solid strategy.

Nawaz Sharif praised Punjab government’s performance for rehabilitation of the flood affected people.

Addressing the ceremony, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that some six lakh families have been affected by the flood in central and south Punjab. He said he is grateful to the federal government for support in the in relief package.

Prior to the address, Prime Minister and Chief Minister Punjab were given detailed briefing about the destruction caused by the flood.
