Blast kills five suspected militants, injures 4 in Tirah Valley
The explosion took place inside a militant post in Tirah valley.
PESHAWAR (Web Desk) – At least five suspected militants were killed and four others injured in a blast in the Tirah Valley of Khyber region.
According to sources, the explosion took place inside a militant post in Tirah valley. The deceased belonged to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Military officials say insurgents use the valley as a base camp that enables them to carry out raids in other semi-autonomous tribal areas near the Afghan border.
The military has been fighting TTP and other foreign militants in North Waziristan tribal region since mid-June to destroy their long-standing bases.
More than 12,00 militants and 86 soldiers have been killed in the assault so far.
