Summary MQM chief Altaf Hussain condemns the attack on PTV headquarters by protesters.

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said on Monday that the attack on PTV headquarters by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) protestors is highly condemnable. Breaking laws and attacking state institutions, under the guise of protest, cannot be allowed and the protestors should protest within the boundaries of law and constitution, he added.

Denouncing the attack on PTV headquarters, MQM chief Altaf Husain said that state institutions and buildings are official state symbols and therefore, must be protected. He said in one of his statements that though it is the fundamental right of everyone to stage peaceful protest demonstrations, protestors should hold protests within the limits of law and constitution. Referring to protest leaders Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri, he said that they should strictly disallow their followers from attacking any state building whether it’s PTV centre, Radio Station or Parliament House. The protestors should rather respect state-buildings and refrain from causing them any kind of loss, he urged. Altaf Hussain claimed that since the state-buildings are Pakistan’s identity, they should be protected and respected; therefore, PTI and PAT protestors should not undermine the country with their unlawful acts. The protestors must remain peaceful and should not bear any loss upon the state-institutions or buildings, said Altaf.
