Summary PM summons joint parliament session on Tuesday

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News, Web Desk) -- Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif presided over a ‎‎‘high level’ meeting on Sunday, which has decided to summon a joint parliament session on ‎Tuesday 2nd September to discuss the present political predicament, and they condemned the ‎aggression on the parliament house by protesters in Islamabad.‎

PM stressed that no one would be allowed to violate the sanctity of the parliament, and neither ‎would anyone be allowed to question the supremacy of the constitution. PM also condemned the ‎attack on media employees, and gave orders for strict action against the responsible officials.‎

The joint session appreciated the efforts of the Islamabad police for successfully protecting the ‎state buildings. The members present at the session mutually agreed upon furthering the process ‎of political dialogue to resolve the current political crisis.‎

During the riot outside the parliament house, three people were killed and more than 500 people ‎were injured due to police shelling at the protesters, who were trying to encroach upon state ‎territory.
