Summary Tahirul Qadri said that if he is lying about government’s request to mediate, he should be arrested.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Addressing the protesters of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Tahirul Qadri said that he should be arrested if his claim of ‘army’s involvement on the request of government’ is proved to be a lie. Moreover, if the PM has misstated, he must also be arrested.
He further said that the involvement of army was requested by the PM himself as army cannot play the role of a mediator on any political party’s request.
Qadri insisted that if Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif do not resign by today evening, army’s role as a mediator and guarantor shall also not be accepted.
Chief of Army staff (COAS) met him and chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) in a joint meeting as well, he added.
Earlier in the day, addressing the National Assembly PM Nawaz Sharif had said that neither the government nor the army has asked to play any role of a mediator to bring the current political crisis to an end.
