KARACHI (Web Desk) – Heavy rain has turned weather pleasant but caused chaos in many areas of the metropolis on Saturday, Dunya News reported.

According to Met Office, 38mm rain was recorded in Masrur Base, Saddar 39mm, Faisal Base 12mm, University Road 9.6mm and Airport Road 6.6mm.

Met Office has predicted more rain in the next 24 hours.

Five people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents in different areas. Two people were electrocuted to death in Buffer Zone. Another person died when a wall collapsed in Metroville Site. One child died and two people got injured when roof of a house collapse in Naval Colony.

Earlier, K-Electric spokesperson told that five grid stations and 85 feeders tripped during the rain, suspending power supply to FB Area, North Karachi, Gulshan Iqbal, Jail Chowrangi, Kharadar, Meethadar and other areas.

Power has now been restored to most of the areas.

"All grid station affected by the rain have been restored, teams now working on the remaining feeders," K-Electric posted on Twitter. 

Provincial Minister for Industries Rauf Siddiqui told that emergency has also been imposed in the industrial zone.
