Summary

Six explosions have been reported in Allama Iqbal Town division of Lahore. The first blast occurred in an empty plot near crowded Moon Market in Kashmir Block. The second blast hit a car parked outside a house. The third blast also occurred in Kashmir Block. The fourth blast was reported outside the residence of Group Captain Inam-ul-Haq in Zeenat Block. The fifth blast struck Karim Block and the sixth and last blast was reported in Samanabad area adjacent to Allama Iqbal Town. Rescue teams and police had cordoned the area, panic and fear prevailed among the masses. No causality has been reported so far. These blasts were of very low intensity as cracker bombs were used in all the blasts. There were eight terror attacks in the city within one day. Where as 2 blasts in R.A. Bazaar this morning killed 57 people and injured 129 others.Five security personnel among 57 killed while 129 others got severely injured as two suicide bombers blew themselves up at main bus stand in north Cantonment area, RA Bazaar, Lahore, Dunya News reported today.The blasts took place while the faithful were going to offer the Jumma prayers. Windowpanes of nearby building shattered in wake of the explosion. Rescue efforts are underway and the injured are being shifted to nearby hospitals.Sources added that the injured include two army majors also. Rise in toll is also feared. Police and law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area.The President and Prime Minister condemned the incident in strong terms.
