Summary Muslims across the country begin special prayers including preparations for Taraweeh.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan officially welcomed the Islamic month of Ramazan on Sunday evening just after the sunset. The Ramadan moon was sighted earlier as captured and reported by Dunya News and the fasting will begin on Monday, Dunya News reported.
The central Ruet-e-Hilal Committees had met on Saturday evening for Ramazan moon sighting but decided the first Ramazan will be on Monday as no sightings were reported across the country. The meeting was presided over by the committee’s chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
The moon, however, was visible on Sunday evening when Muslims from across the country started preparing for Taraweeh prayers.
Pakistan Meteorological Department had also predicted beginning of Ramazan from Monday.
Meanwhile, Muslims in several countries across the world including Australia and Middle Eastern countries welcomed the sacred month with Taraweeh prayers on Saturday evening.
