(Web Desk) - A spokesman of Home Department Punjab has said that Tahirul Qadri, the leader of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and founder of Minhajul Quran International, is facing security threats, the state radio reported on Monday. 

The spokesman said after military operation in North Waziristan, terrorists have threatened to attack important political and religious leaders.

There is also threat of terrorism at airports including Benazir Bhutto Airport Islamabad, he aded. 

He said terrorists can also target the slow moving convoy of Pakistan Awami Tehrik on GT Road. 

Sources told Dunya News that intelligence agencies had alerted the police about the potential threat. The report said that Qadri’s road travel from Islamabad to Lahore is extremely dangerous.

Earlier on Sunday, Tahirul Qadri told media in London that he is aware that ‘severe hurdles’ will be deployed for him from the day one. He said he will reach Pakistan on June 23 in any case, adding that he is Pakistan national and no one has any justification to stop him.
