National Assembly Standing Committee on Health has approved Alternate Treatment Bill 2008. The standing committee restricted homeopaths not to write doctor with their names, The standing committee advised the Health Ministry to issue a circular in this connection.Dr Nadeem Ihsaan chaired the meeting of the standing committee. The committee member and the Parliamentary Secretary Dr Mehreen Raza Bhutto said if tabeeb and hakeem do not write doctor with their names, so why the homeopath does it.The committee gave a consensus verdict in this connection that homeopaths are advised to write only homeopath not the word doctor. Those who violate would be punished under drug act.The Chairman of the committee called for report on doctors alleged negligence at PIMS Hospital resulting in the death of a female child Shehar.
