Summary A consortium of Chinese companies is working on the project.

SAHIWAL (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate two coal-fired power plants at Qadirabad in Sahiwal District on Friday.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and provincial ministers were also present on the occasion.

As per details, the power plants will generate 1320 megawatt of electricity. The project will be completed by November 2016.

The Punjab Government has constituted a cabinet committee to monitor work on the project.

Meanwhile, a turbine at Nandipur Power Project has begun generating 95 megawatt of power.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will formally inaugurate the project on May 30.

The project has a total capacity of 425 megawatts and it would be completed by December this year at a cost of $574 million.
