Summary After assurance from government officials, MQM chief has asked his party workers to cancel protests.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has asked MQM Coordination Committee members to cancel protest demonstrations said as government assured that his national identity card for overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) would be issued soon.

The MQM chief in his statement said that government officials and concerned departments have assured him that his NICOP and passport will be issued very soon.

Meanwhile, on the direction of party chief, the MQM has cancelled their scheduled protest in front of Mazar-e-Quaid in Karachi and outside Pakistani high commission in London.
