KARACHI (Dunya News) – The anti-polio campaign in most of the union councils of Karachi is facing delay due to the absence of polio team or security personnel.

The anti-polio drive was scheduled to be held in 24 union councils of Karachi on Sunday. However, due to the absence of either polio workers or security personnel, the campaign is facing delay.

The Sindh government had also imposed a ban on motorcycle riding under Section 144 from 8AM till 4PM today.

The union councils that are undergoing the polio campaign include Gujro UC-4, Sinogul UC-5, Manghopir UC-8 of Guddap Town, Pehalwan Goth UC-10, Metroville UC-11, Gulzar Hijri UC-12, Safora Goth UC-13, Baldia Town’s Naal Abadi UC-4, Mominabad UC-1 of Orangi Town, Baloch Goth UC-13, Haryana Colony UC-2, and several UCs of SITE town, Bin Qasim Town, Landhi Town, Sadar Town and Gulberg Town.

The campaign is aimed at inoculating children against polio virus.
