An inter-ministerial meeting in the Foreign Office reviewed the Indian offer for the resumption of bilateral talks with Pakistan. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi presided over the meeting while Foreign Secretary Salman Basheer, Pakistani High Commissioner in India Shahid Malik and other officials were also present in the meeting. Participants backed holding of meaningful and goal-oriented talks with India. However, the meeting urged India to resume bilateral Composite Dialogue Process as early as possible, agreeing to increase regional and international pressure on India for the purpose.
