Summary MQM chief praised people of Sindh for observing a peaceful ‘day of mourning.’

LONDON (Web Desk) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussan demanded the authorities to hold a judicial inquiry into the alleged extra-judicial killing of Salman Nooruddin and other party workers, Dunya News reported on Saturday.

In a press release, Altaf Hussain said that the officials of police and law-enforcing agencies under whose instructions the MQM workers have been allegedly killed should be brought to book according to the law.

Injustices and oppression must end, he added.

Alltaf Hussain said that he had personally telephoned Chief Minister Sindh, the DG Rangers Sindh and other high-ranking officials to inform him about the details of the killing of Salman Nooruddin but no one cared to respond.

He said that if the officials of the law-enforcing agencies and other government functionaries who were accountable to public continued to neglect their duties, then the future of Pakistan can be well-imagined.

Moreover, the MQM chief thanked business community, transporters, petrol pump and CNG station owners and other people belonging to various walks of life for suspending their activities on the day of mourning.

He praised people of Sindh for registering their strong protest in a peaceful manner.
