According to sources, a mobile phone was used as time device in the explosion. The FIA team gathered parts of the motorcycle and ball bearings from the scene. The FIA team believes that a mobile phone found at the scene of the blast was used in the explosion.Interior Minister Sindh Zulfikar Mirza described the blast at Karachi as National tragedy. He said that investigations are underway from those who have been arrested.Zulfikar Mirza was speaking to the media after he attended a high level meeting on law and order situation prevailing in Karachi. He said that it is impossible to check every vehicle in Karachi and urged that it is the responsibility of every citizen to remain alert during these critical times. Zulfikar also said that he could present five innocent people and accuse them in a fake case of the blast but he will not do that and would try to expose the truth to the public.The Sindh Assembly prayed and observed two minutes of silence for the victims of Karachi blast. Sindh Law Minister Ayaaz Soomro informed the members of the Assembly that Police have arrested several people and investigations are underway. MQM Parliamentary leader Faisal Sabziwari said that time demands for practical action instead of passing resolution against the incident. Leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly Jaam Madaad Ali said that terrorist should be dealt peacefully. Provincial Minister for Health Dr. Saghir Ahmad said that in the past he emphasized on the importance of security at hospital but no action was taken by concerned authorities.
