ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The committees formed by the government and the Taliban to hold peace talks will meet Jamaat-e-islami (JI)’s office on Tuesday at 2 PM in Islamabad.

According to sources, the decision came following a telephone conversation between Maulana Samiul Haq and Irfan Siddiqui.

Earlier, talking to media, Maulana Samiul Haq, who is a member of the committee nominated by the Taliban, said Taliban have not set any conditions for the talks, adding that Maulana Yousuf Shah will be coordinator of the committee.

He said we will meet the government committee to forward the dialogue process. He said every effort will be made to complete this process soon‚ but it is not possible to give a time-frame at the moment.

Maulana Sami ul Haq said the procedure and place of dialogue will be finalized after meeting with the committee formed by the government.

He also urged media to play a constructive role in the success of the dialogue.

The government’s committee comprises Irfan Siddiqui, Major (retd) Aamir, Rahimullah Yousafzai and Rustam Shah Mohmand.

The Taliban have nominated Maulana Samiul Haq, Professor Ibraheem, Mufti Kifayatullah, Maulana Abdul Aziz and Imran Khan. However, the PTI chairman has not announced if he will be part of the Taliban’s committee.
