KARACHI (Dunya News): A seven member delegate of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has met British Deputy High Commissioner in Karachi and submitted a letter to British Prime Minister protesting against BBC documentary.
The memorandum states that BBC has broadcasted a documentary against MQM and Altaf Hussain based on dishonesty adding that the documentary has hurt the feelings of millions of people.
MQM’s delegate said that it believes in freedom of press but considers media trials against anyone yellow journalism and reserves the democratic, legal and constitutional rights against it.
The delegate consisted of Deputy Convener of Raabta Committee Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Dr Farooq Sattar, Nasreen Jalil, Senator Farogh Nasim, Faisal Sabzwari, Syed Sardar Ahmad and Khwaja Izharul Hassan.
It is pertinent to mention here that BBC had broadcast a report in its show ‘Newsnight’ naming the key suspects of Dr Imran Farooq murder case. The report had allegedly linked the sponsor of the suspects to Altaf Hussain’s nephew.
