Rain likely in various parts of country: Met Office

Summary Pakistan Meteorological Deartment on Wednesday indicated chances of rain in some parts of country.

ISLAMABAD (APP): Pakistan Meteorological Deartment (PMD) on Wednesday indicated chances of rain with snowfall over the hills at isolated places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan during next 24 hours.

According to the synoptic situation, a westerly wave is affecting upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 18 hours.

The weather would remain cold and dry in most parts of Sindh and Balochistan during the next 24 hours.

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours were Gupis, Kalat, Parachinar -07 C, Skardu -06 C, Astore, Kalam -04 C, Hunza, Drosh, Quetta -03 C.

The minimum temperatures recorded in the other cities were Islamabad 05 C, Lahore 08 C, Karachi 11 C, Peshawar 05 C, Quetta -03 C, Murree 01 C, Muzaffarabad 04 C, Gilgit 02 C, Faisalabad 07 C, Multan 08 C and Hyderabad 12 C.

The rainfall recorded during last 24 hours was Sialkot 23 mm, Gujrat 13, Rawalakot 12, Garidupatta 09, Mangla and Muzaffarabad 07, Gujranwala 06, Murree and Kotli 05. The snowfall recorded was Astore 06 and Skardu 03 inches.
