ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami chief Syed Munawar Hasan has said that people like Osama Bin Laden, the former Al Qaeda chief, do not die and stay alive in people’s hearts.
Munawar Hasan was addressing a seminar in Islamabad where he made the remarks remembering Al Qaeda chief.
JI chief further said that the killing of Bin Laden was lauded by 60% of the world and yet they are afraid of another Bin Laden when the NATO troops withdraw from Afghanistan.
Jamaat Islami chief often comes under criticism with his controversial statements. Only last year he had attracted a considerable controversy for calling former Taliban commander Hakimullah Mehsud a martyr and had questioned the martyrdom of Pakistan’s armed forces saying they align with the ‘enemy’. The statement was criticized by every circle including by the Pakistan Army through a press statement issued by ISPR.
