Summary CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif said the whole nation has to be on same page to fight terrorism.
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has said that the recent wave of terrorism in the country is frightening and adaptation of a jointly agreed upon strategy is needed.
He said the power shortage and extremism are two basic and most severe problems faced by the country today and without finding a solution progress is impossible.
Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government has completed its homework for producing electricity from coal and two projects of 1320 megawatts are being initiated in the first phase. He further added that sites for installation of coal electricity plants have been selected in six cities of Punjab. From these sites, the electricity could easily be added to the national grid, he added.
CM told the press that these projects will bring an investment of 8 to 10 billion dollars which will enable employment for hundreds of thousands of people.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that the tenders to national and international companies will be allotted by 23 March.
It merits mentioning here that Pakistan is facing energy crises for several years and the government had claimed to utilize efficient alternative sources of electricity to curb the crises.
