Summary Jamat-ud-Dawah patron urges both sides to stop use of force for peace negotiations to succeed.
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – In an exclusive conversation with Dunya News, Wednesday, Jamat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed has said that government seems less serious and more showing-off when it comes to peace talks. He further said that the ceasefire is need of the hour for the success of peace negotiations.
Hafiz Saeed said that the efforts to make peace talks meaningful are critical for the betterment of the country. Foreign powers are dividing the nation, if Taliban associate them with Pakistan, then they should understand the agenda of enemy and announce ceasefire, he added.
JuD chief made it clear that no justification for attacking polio workers can be given and said that militancy against Pakistan is part of ‘global conspiracy’ against the country.
Following attacks on security personnel, Pakistan security forces had pounded militant hideouts in North Waziristan on Tuesday, killing around 37 militants including the most wanted jailbreak mastermind Adnan Rasheed.
Earlier this month, Saeed had hold America and India responsible for terrorism in Pakistan.
Hafiz Saeed is termed as the mastermind of Mumbai attacks and is thus in the most wanted list of India and US, with US having a bounty over his head. Pakistani government has attempted to prosecute him a number of times in the recent years but he was acquitted on the basis of lack of evidence.
Hafiz Saeed and other leaders of Difa-e-Pakistan often hold open processions throughout the country. Difa-e-Pakistan, literally ‘defense of Pakistan’ insists its objective is to ‘defend’ the country.
