Summary Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif says extraordinary situation requires extraordinary measures.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The meeting of Federal Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held here on Monday.
Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan briefed the cabinet on contacts with Taliban and new security policy after which the federal cabinet approved new security policy.
Earlier, addressing the Federal Cabinet, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif expressed the resolve to establish supremacy of law in the country at all costs.
He said all state institutions will have to play their role in eliminating terrorism and holding criminals accountable. He said supremacy of law is a prerequisite for establishment of a society based on justice and equality.
The Prime Minister stressed on making the border management system more effective. He said the government will not compromise on principles and it gives top priority to the national intest.

Talking to media in Islamabad on Sunday evening‚ Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan had said that aim of the policy is to protect people by enhancing the capacity of law enforcement and intelligence agencies. He said the new security policy will have three components - Secret‚ Strategic‚ and Operational.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said under the policy‚ National Counter-Terrorism Authority will be established to tackle terrorism.
He said a Joint Intelligence Directorate will be set up for coordination and intelligence sharing among twenty-six intelligence agencies in the country.
The Minister said a Rapid Response Force supported by an air wing will be set up at federal level which will respond to acts of terror within minutes. This force will be replicated in the provinces.
He said under the strategic aspect of the policy‚ it will be decided when to hold dialogue with militants‚ when to carry out a military operation and when to do the two things simultaneously.
