Summary Polling for local bodies by-elections was held on Sunday in ten districts of Balochistan.

QUETTA (Dunya News) - Polling for Local Government by-elections In Balochistan on 559 vacant seats including all 74 seats of Harnai district were held on Sunday.

According to unofficial results, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) won majority seats in Harnai while Awami National Party (ANP) gained victory in Shahrug.

No one filed nomination papers against I68 candidates and they were declared winners unopposed while polling was held for 104 seats.

Candidates on 20 out of 98 seats of Harnai succeeded unopposed while polling was held on 74 seats.

Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party gained majority on six seats of eight wards while Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI) won two seats.
Meanwhile, three members had already been declared successful on three seats of Shahrug Muncipal Committee while Awami National Party won five seats, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party three seats and JUI one seat respectively.

According to unofficial results of nine distinct council seats, PKMAP won four, JUI two and ANP one seat. Results of district seats of two union councils would be announced on Monday (today).

According to provincial election commission sources, the polling was held in a peaceful manner in Quetta‚ Harnai‚ Pishin‚ Sibi‚ Gwadar‚ Qilla Saifullah‚ Loralai‚ Jaffarabad‚ Dera Bugti‚ Zhob and Sheerani districts.

Tight security arrangements had made to conduct the polling.

The Frontier Corps‚ Balochistan constabulary‚ police and Levies Force have been deployed in and around the polling stations and at sensitive points.
