ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has canceled his scheduled trip to Switzerland in the wake of recent terrorist attack in Bannu claiming at least 20 lives of security forces’ men. Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had accepted the responsibility of the attack.
Prime Minister was scheduled to participate in a summit of World Economic Forum in Davos. In a statement from Islamabad, he said that the sacrifices offered by the nation will not go in vain adding that the whole nation is united against terrorism.
Hours ago, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan had criticized the Prime Minister’s foreign visits and slammed the government for failing to control growing terrorist attacks.
Earlier today, a deadly attack on a military convoy in Bannu had claimed the lives of at least 20 security personnel while injuring another 30. The preliminary investigation found that the explosives were planted in a cylinder in one of the vehicles. Banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had accepted responsibility of the attack.
