Summary Polling for local bodies by-elections was held on 98 constituencies of 12 districts.

QUETTA (Dunya News) – Polling for Local Government by-elections In Balochistan started at 8am and concluded at 5pm on Sunday.

According to schedule, by elections for local government 559 vacant seats including all 74 seats of Harnai district were held in Balochistan.

No one filed nomination papers against I68 candidates and they were declared winners unopposed while 287 seats once again would remain vacant.

According to provincial election commission sources, the polling was held in a peaceful manner in Quetta‚ Harnai‚ Pishin‚ Sibi‚ Gwadar‚ Qilla Saifullah‚ Loralai‚ Jaffarabad‚ Dera Bugti‚ Zhob and Sheerani districts.

Tight security arrangements had made to conduct the polling.

The Frontier Corps‚ Balochistan constabulary‚ police and Levies Force have been deployed in and around the polling stations and at sensitive points.

Local Bodies elections in Balochistan were held on 58 percent seat on December 7, 2013 but many seats remained vacant as no one had filed nomination papers.
