Summary Rangers and police are conducting operation against banned outfits on a large scale in Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – At least five people including two women have lost their lives in recent spate of violence in Karachi while the law enforcement agencies have arrested around 30 suspects during operation in different areas of the troubled metropolis.
Over 1,000 Rangers personnel conducted operation in Kanwari Colony of Manghopir. A squad of anti-terrorism force participated in the operation while air surveillance was also made.
In Lyari, the Rangers arrested banned outfit activist Qari Siraj along with his two companions. The operation was conducted on a tip-off provided by an arrested police officer Sarwar Baloch.
An alleged target killer and three criminal suspects were also arrested in a separate operation in Lyari. Huge cache of arms was seized from the arrested.
Earlier, police and Rangers in a joint operation arrested 14 suspects belonging to Lyari gang war.
Unidentified assailants opened firing near nusery on Shahrah-e-Faisal, killing one while injuring another person.
A woman was killed while 14 others were injured in a grenade attack in Lyari.
A body was also found from Khadda Market while a lady was killed in a firing incident in Liaqatabad.
